The clasp sits between the cups, which means the Papillonne goes on in one motion and comes off in another. Behind, the straps split into a butterfly of lace across the shoulder blades — the reason it is worth wearing under something backless.
The cups are lightly moulded and angled inward, so the front does real work while the back does the showing off.
